Month of Firsts

May has been a whirly, windy blur of a month filled with many firsts.  Is it possible to feel exhausted and rejuvenated at the same time? From hosting the first successful love filled party at the new home to  first time travels through Arizona and  Nevada for the Todays Dietitian Spring Symposium; I feel more like ‘me’ than I have in awhile.  I feel so absolutely wealthy in new experiences this year; which to me is so much more important than any amount in a bank account could ever be. Here are just a few quick snapshots:

Love doing life with my long distance TEXAS best friends! They traveled to become my first ever house guests and helped celebrate my engagement and upcoming wedding!

After a long flight into Phoenix, I did the Airbnb thing (another first) and stopped in the quaint, mountain town of Flagstaff en route to the Grand Canyon. Up early on day two, I had my usual café au lait with a whole grain waffle at Macy’s (a boho chic coffee shop on the downtown strip). Yumm-o!

I’ve got my toes in the….Canyon? I loved being able to walk out on the ledges and peer down into the vastness of the Grand Canyon. Breathtaking doesn’t even do it justice.

Since I was traveling solo for this one, a friendly traveler offered to take my photo! When I have more time, I vowed to return and hike down to river raft the Colorado.

On the strip in Las Vegas after a full day of lectures and presentations at the Todays Dietitian Symposium!

On that note, I can’t wait to put into practice some of the nutrition communication skills and writing techniques I learned at some of the sessions I attended at the symposium.  Eeeek!

In other news, this is my last blog post as a single person. I will be officially married in barely over a week on the white sandy beaches of Key West, Florida. Neither myself nor my fiancé have ever been to that part of Florida, so we are extremely excited to start off our marriage with a new adventure.  More updates next time and I’ll share how the universe helped plan the wedding. 🙂 🙂 🙂
